Taft marched onto the Porterville College baseball field and took a solid 7-3 conference victory in game 2 of a 3 game set. Many Cougars had a multi-hit game. Dominic Tating, Travis Turner, Luke Lubiniecki, as well as Dayton Wilson all had 2 hit performances, and Richard Ortiz hammered his fifth homer of the season in the top of the fourth inning to break the game open and give the Cougars a 6-0 lead.
Mark O'Connor got the start on the bump for the Cougars and tossed 4 innings, allowed 3 hits, 2 runs with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Seth Sorensen, Kirkland Chalus and Chase Nistor all got work out of the bullpen to preserve the lead and seal the deal.
Game three against Porterville College will be hosted at Cougar Field on Saturday, March 18 at 1:00 pm.
