The men's soccer team faced off against the Pasadena City College Lancers on Friday, September 14. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with both goals coming from penalty kicks. The Lancers scored their penalty kick in the 19th minute of the game. This was the first time the Cougars have been down in the season and had to find a solution to come back.
In the start of the second half we saw a new Cougars team! They came out hungry and ready to fight back. They had several chances to score and nothing would seem to go in until finally a penalty kick in the 90th minute was rewarded after Alan Perez was fouled. The penalty kick was scored by Leopoldo Hernandez and secured the tie.
Taft remains undefeated but with a draw on their record. The team will prepare for a tough week with two away games. The first will be at Cerritos College on Tuesday, September 18, then Friday, September 21 at Santa Barbara City College.
