Player Spotlight of the Week: Yaila Ornelas
This week, the team came together and voted for our Player Spotlight of the Week and the choice was clear. The honor goes to Yaila Ornelas.
When you ask her teammates why, their words all point to the same thing: Yaila’s positivity and encouragement. She’s the one who always cheers everyone on, motivates the group before games, and brings an energy that lifts the entire team. Whether she’s on the field or supporting from the sidelines, she’s a constant source of encouragement and joy.
Her teammates describe her as someone who takes feedback the right way, leads in small groups, and consistently carries herself with character. She’s quick with a smile, steady with her words, and always focused on building others up.
As a program, we believe culture drives success and Yaila embodies the culture we’re building. She has an amazing attitude, a heart for her teammates, and is simply an awesome person to have on this squad.
