The Cougars lost 11-0 in game one of a three game series against conference foe COS. Tyson Canfield got the start on the mound, tossing just 3 innings and allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. Seth Sorensen, Tait Ludwick, Kirkland Chalus, and Kyler Shiflett combined to allow a total of 9 runs in 5 innings.
On the offensive side, The Cougars managed just 2 hits off Giants' starter Alex Garcia. Nick Kawano and Dominic Tating went 1-for-3 at the plate, and Brady Meeds came off the bench to hit a single in the 8th inning.
The Taft College Baseball team will look to bounce back on Thursday when they host game 2 of the series against COS at 2:00 pm.
