Taft College played game two of the three game set against Merced on the road and lost a 5-0 lead to a final score 19-5. Merced put up an 8 spot in the fifth, 3 in the sixth, 4 in the seventh, and 4 in the eighth.
Cougar starter Mark O'Connor tossed 4 innings, and allowed 5 runs in the fifth inning without recording an out. Tyson Canfield took the loss by pitching the fifth and allowing 3 runs. Three other Cougar pitchers gave up runs in the last 3 innings.
Dominic Tating was the only Cougar with a multi-hit performance. He plated 2 hits in 5 at-bats. Six other Cougars got singles.
The Final game against Merced will be played on Saturday March 25 at 2:00 pm in Merced.
