Cougars Golf Opens up with Big 8 Conference Opener
TAFT, CA – The Taft College men's golf team opened Big 8 Conference play Monday, February 9 at Del Rio Country Club in Modesto, facing a challenging course to begin the conference season.
The tight fairways and quick greens proved demanding throughout the day, placing a premium on accuracy and smart course management. Despite the tough conditions, the Cougars battled from start to finish in their first official Big 8 event of the year.
Brady Shipley paced Taft with a team-best 87, grinding through the round and providing steady leadership at the top of the lineup. Kasen Clark followed closely behind, carding an 89 to give the Cougars another solid score in conference play.
With the opening Big 8 tournament now in the books, Taft will look to build on the experience and continue sharpening its game as conference competition continues.
