Taft Men’s Golf Posts Best Outing of the Season
TAFT, CA – It is always nice to compete on your home course. For TC, Buena Vista Golf Course is the home turf. On March 11, the Taft College Men's Golf team turned in its best performance of the season with a team score of 330.
Sophomore Brady Shipley led the way with a season-best 76, continuing his strong leadership for the Cougars. Fellow sophomores Ryker Scherer and Kasen Clark each carded 83s to help power the team's top outing of the year.
Playing as an individual from Independence High School, freshman Amar Daville also had a standout day, firing a season-best 82.
Head coach Dan Walters praised the group's effort:
"Brady is the team leader on and off the course and seeing him score well on our home course is fantastic. The fellow sophomores did what they need to do the rest of the year. Having Amar improve is really good to see because he has put in the time and work in the Fall and this Spring."
Next up, Taft will compete next at the Black Horse Course at Bayonet Golf Course in Monterey on March 16.
