Taft College's Brian Tufino Signs with NCAA DI Sacramento State
TAFT, CA – Taft College Men's Soccer had a great 2024 season. Taft College was ranked as high as #15 in the California Community College Athletic Association and finished 15th in the national poll of the United Soccer Coaches Organization. Men's Soccer was atop of the Central Valley Conference standings finishing in 2nd place.
The last two years of Taft College's success on the field were partly due to one of their top players in Brian Tufino. In his freshman debut, Tufino was voted Freshman Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, leading the state with the most shutouts, while being top 3 for fewest number of goals against in the state. His sophomore season concluded with him being named Second Team All-Conference.
Tufino will transition to the next level officially signing with NCAA Division I California State University, Sacramento. The Hornets ended their season in the Big West Conference 3-6 with an overall record of 6-10-2.
