TC Women’s Basketball Mentors at Youth Conference

TAFT, CA – Members of the Taft College Women's Basketball Team were invited to participate and lead as mentors at the Spring 2025 Youth Conference organized by PowerMoves 365 in Bakersfield.

Many workshops and groups were in place to provide for many of the youth. Participants were able to explore and interact in activities with guiding groups of mentors, inspirers, supporters, hygiene, life skills, and financial literacy.

Program Director Eliska Anderson elaborated on the conference, "Throughout the day, the Taft Women's Basketball players helped guide small group activities, built authentic connections with the girls, and represented what it looks like to lead both on and off the court. Their presence reminded every young lady in the room that strength comes in many forms: discipline, teamwork, kindness, and purpose."
