Ridgeview High School Standout Commits to Taft College Women’s Basketball
TAFT, CA – The ninth incoming prospect for the upcoming 2025-2026 women's basketball recruiting class for Taft College will be Aubrey Aldan.
Aldan is a 5'10 forward from Ridgeview High School competing in the South Yosemite League in Bakersfield. She averaged 18 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. Starting all four years at the varsity level, she received First Team All-League, a two-time Leadership Award, two-time Second Team All-League, and Team Best Sportsmanship.
Taft College Head Women's Basketball Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. stated, "When I first became the head coach at Taft, I quickly started evaluating local talent and asking around who the standouts are in Kern County. Aubrey caught my eye two years ago, and I truly believe she has the potential to be a real good athlete. She has a nice touch outside, sees the floor well, along with a solid IQ of the game. Aubrey is a very good teammate and has what it takes to make our basketball program successful. The fact that she is highly coachable makes this commitment a pleasure in every aspect."
Aldan shared her remarks, "I am committing to Taft not just because of basketball and getting more experience but because I feel like I can make a family away from home."
