Another Las Vegas Native Commits to Taft College Women’s Basketball
TAFT, CA – Giselle Serrano of Sunrise Mountain High School in Las Vegas, Nevada will bring her talents to Taft College Women's Basketball.
Serrano is a 5'2" guard who has the reputation of being feisty on the hardwood. Taft College Head Women's Basketball Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. stated, "Relying upon feistiness and scrappiness defensively, and offensive quickness, Giselle is all of that, and that's what attracted me to her. She's short in stature, but gritty in the heart. I can't wait until she arrives on campus and has the opportunity to display her skills in a Taft College uniform."
As a 3-year varsity starter, Serrano averaged 12 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals per game. In 2024, she was voted 4A Conference Second Team Honors. As the team's second leading scorer this past season, she was awarded the 2025 4A Conference Honorable Mention, Varsity Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and Student Athlete of the Year.
Serrano shared her thoughts, "I committed to Taft College because I have always wanted to play basketball on the collegiate level. Taft College showed the most interest in me and is allowing me the opportunity to explore college basketball. I look forward to the next two years and my growth as a student-athlete."
