You read that right, from kickoff the ball was sent into the Rams' defense, and because of the Cougar's high press Delia Bocanegra was able to cross it to her teammate Mariana Sagasta who buried it in the right corner.
Taft maintained possession throughout the game. Jennifer Vera, Heaven Mejia, and Sarai Bocanegra were passing circles around the Rams' defense all game long. Taft's back line did a stunning job at achieving the shutout and getting the ball to their forward's feet which provided the Cougars with many goal-scoring opportunities.
Overall it was a very high-possessed game with an amazing 1-0 win. Next week the Cougars battle again against College of the Sequoias at Visalia.
