Taft College Women’s Soccer Emily Leyva Signs with Kansas Wesleyan University
TAFT, CA – Taft College Women's Soccer is proud to announce that Emily Leyva will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Kansas Wesleyan University, a strong NAIA program in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
One of the most athletic and dynamic players in the program, Emily was known for her explosive speed, relentless energy, and fighter's mentality on the field. Whether breaking lines on the attack or recovering to make key defensive plays, she consistently gave 100% and never backed down from a challenge.
"Emily brought a level of competitiveness and physicality that elevated the standard for our entire squad," said Head Coach Lyle Martin. "Her speed was unmatched, but it was her heart and effort that made her so valuable. Kansas Wesleyan is getting a true game changer."
Coach Martin continued, "Her Emily's contributions were felt across every minute she played, and her work ethic has left a lasting impact on our culture. The Cougar family celebrates her next chapter and can't wait to see the impact she'll make at the next level."
Congratulations, Emily! Your journey is just getting started and it's going to be special.
