Houchin Blood Bank Promotes Awareness at Taft College Volleyball Game
TAFT, CA – On October 15, Taft College Athletics promoted one of its community connections with Houchin Community Blood Bank during the volleyball match vs. Porterville College.
At the beginning of the match, Community Development Supervisor Alyssa Mendonca along with the Houchin Blood Bank, was honored by the athletic staff with Taft Athletic apparel. In return, Mendonca had prized merchandise to hand out during the game. Cougar Athletics were glad to be in partnership with the blood bank promoting its importance of donating blood informing the public how lives can be saved and its ultimate life saving mission.
Mendonca said, "Houchin Community Blood Bank is the only local blood bank to service all of Kern County, making sure that all hospitals are supplied with blood units from our local community! Help Houchin continue their life saving mission for Kern County and donate today!"
Athletic Director Kanoe Bandy expressed her appreciation and excitement to have Houchin Community Blood Bank as a community partner, "It feels good to be able to highlight the life saving measures of Houchin Blood Bank and to help advertise the blood drive which took place during Oildorado in Taft on October 18th."
