Taft College Cougars Secure Victory in Central Valley Conference Volleyball against Reedley
In an impressive display on their home court this past Halloween, the Taft College Cougars women's volleyball team clinched a decisive win against the Reedley College Tigers. The match, which took place on October 31, 2025, at Taft, ended with a final score of 3-0 in favor of Taft College, marking another success in their already stellar season.
The first set saw the Cougars dominate with a score of 25-12. The following sets were closely contested, with Taft pulling off narrow victories of 26-24 and 27-25. These wins showcased the Cougars' resilience and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Key players made significant contributions to Taft's victory. Jazzahlei Satele led with an impressive 14 kills, followed by Ku'ulei Manaois with 10 and Shylah Pulu-Valdez with 7. Defensively, Jazzahlei Satele and Havi Valdez each managed 1.0 block, with Manaois adding 2.0 blocks. Shyanne Yamada's 17 digs were crucial in keeping the Cougars in play, while Satele also contributed 13 digs.
Satele distinguished herself not only in kills and blocks but also in serves, delivering 4 aces. Vienna Perier and Teihanni Tafisi followed with 3 and 1 aces, respectively. The assists column was led by Amber Makainai with 22 assists that played a vital role in setting up attacks.
Looking ahead, Taft is set to face College of the Sequoias on November 5, 2025, at 6:00pm the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center. It is the last home game. Coach Mallori Rossi will be honoring her four sophomores.
The Cougars, with their current record of 24-2, are optimistic about continuing their strong performance through the season.
