Taft College Cougars Clinch Victory in Final Conference Volleyball Game Against Porterville Pirates
In a dominant display of volleyball skills, the Taft College Cougars women's team closed their conference season with a flawless victory over Porterville College Pirates on November 14, 2025. The match, held in Porterville, concluded with a decisive 3-0 win for the Cougars, cementing their prowess in the season's final conference game.
The Cougars set the tone from the outset, with the first set ending in a commanding 25-8. Maintaining their momentum, they wrapped up the second set 25-9. The Pirates tried to mount a comeback in the third set, narrowing the margin somewhat, but Taft clinched the set at 25-13, showcasing not only their offensive strength but also their solid defense.
Player performances were a highlight of the evening with Jazzahlei Satele leading her team with 11 kills, followed by Havi Valdez and Shylah Pulu-Valdez contributing significantly both offensively and defensively. The defensive efforts saw standout performances with Havi Valdez, Ku'ulei Manaois, and Shylah Pulu-Valdez each adding 2 blocks to keep the Pirates at bay.
