Taft College Volleyball Crowned Central Valley Conference South Division Champions; Historic 28–2 Season Marks New Era for the Cougars
TAFT, CA – Taft College proudly announces that the Cougars Volleyball Team has been named the Central Valley Conference (CVC) South Division Champions, capping off a historic and record-setting 2025 season. The Cougars finished with a dominant 28–2 overall record and a perfect 13–0 in CVC play, showcasing their strength, consistency, and championship mentality.
This season will be remembered as one of the greatest in program history. Among the many milestones, Taft College achieved a monumental victory over Fresno City College, the Cougars' first win against the powerhouse program in more than 20 years. In doing so, Taft also snapped Fresno City's astounding 198-match winning streak against CVC opponents, a streak that had stood unmatched for decades.
Head Coach and staff credit the team's discipline, unity, and relentless competitive spirit for the historic run. From preseason to conference play, the Cougars demonstrated they could compete with—and defeat—the best teams in the state.
That statement was made loud and clear early in the season when Taft College earned a signature win over Feather River College, then ranked #1 in California, during preseason competition. The victory set the tone for the Cougars' rise and foreshadowed their championship trajectory.
"This team is truly special," said Head Coach Mallori Rossi. "Their work ethic, exciting energy, and belief in one another have elevated Taft College Volleyball to new heights. We couldn't be more proud of these young ladies."
With the CVC South Division title secured, the Cougars now look ahead to postseason play, poised to continue their unforgettable journey and represent Taft College on the state stage.
