In a pivotal encounter during the 3C2A Elite Eight State Women's Volleyball Playoffs held on December 5, 2025, at Folsom Lake College, the Taft College Cougars faced off against the Santa Monica College Lady Corsairs. Despite a resilient effort, the Cougars were unable to secure a win, ending the match with a score of Santa Monica 3, Taft 0.
The match commenced intensely with both teams showcasing competitive spirit. The first set saw the Cougars nearly overtaking their opponents, but the set concluded with Santa Monica edging out Taft with a score of 26-24. The subsequent sets saw the Lady Corsairs maintaining their lead, winning 25-21 in the second set and 25-15 in the third, thereby confirming their victory in the match.
