Taft College Volleyball Earns Multiple All-Conference Honors in Central Valley Conference South Division
Taft, Calif. — The Taft College women's volleyball program was prominently represented in the Central Valley Conference (CVC) South Division All-Conference selections, earning numerous honors following a historic season.
The Cougars concluded the year with an impressive 30–3 overall record, finishing undefeated in CVC-South play at 8–0. Taft College also went 13–0 against all CVC opponents, underscoring its dominance throughout conference competition. In recognition of the program's success, Head Coach Mallori Rossi was named CVC-South Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars through a stellar season.
Leading the list of individual accolades was Jazzy Satele, who earned CVC South Division Most Valuable Player honors and was named to the First Team All-Conference. Satele led the conference with 461 total kills and 4.43 kills per set, while recording an impressive .310 hitting percentage. She also made a significant defensive impact, ranking fourth in the conference in digs per set (3.89), and was a consistent threat from the service line, finishing third in the conference with .62 aces per set.
Joining Satele on the First Team All-Conference was Amber Makainai, who surpassed 1,000 career assists during the season. Makainai ranked second in the conference in assists per set (6.22) and played a pivotal role in directing the Cougars' high-powered offense.
Libero Shyanne Yamada also earned First Team All-Conference recognition after finishing second in the conference in total digs (521) and third in digs per set (4.65), anchoring the Cougars' defense throughout the season.
Rounding out Taft College's First Team selections was Vienna Perier, a versatile all-around contributor. Perier ranked fourth in the conference in aces per set (.52), fifth in assists per set (3.91), ninth in kills per set (2.22), and ninth in digs per set (3.04), showcasing her impact in every phase of the game.
Taft College also earned strong representation on the Second Team All-Conference, with Ku'u Manaois, Shylah Pulu-Valdez, Havi Valdez, and Keira Pulido receiving honors after playing key roles in the Cougars' success.
Additionally, Jazzy Juarez, Lacie Pelayo, Hanni Tafisi, and Railey Makainai-Kon received Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition for their consistent contributions throughout the season.
"These honors speak volumes about the dedication and work ethic of our student-athletes," said Head Coach Mallori Rossi. "Producing the conference MVP, four First Team selections, four Second Team selections, and four Honorable Mentions says a lot about the development and growth of our program. I'm extremely proud of this group for the way they competed and represented Taft College both on and off the court."
The Cougars' strong showing in the CVC South Division All-Conference selections reflects the continued growth and competitive strength of the program. With several returning players and a solid foundation in place, Taft College Volleyball looks ahead to continued success in the coming seasons.
