Taft College Women's Soccer Team Secures Victory Over Lemoore College

The match began aggressively, with Taft taking an assertive stance early in the game. Key players such as Jasmine Partida, Hayley Smith, and Kayla Ramirez each scored a goal in the first half, setting a strong pace for the team. Lemoore College responded fiercely with their players, Haylee Vega and Bailee Goforth, each finding the back of the net. The halftime score was a close 3-2 with Taft leading.

The second period saw fewer goals but was marked by rigorous defensive efforts from both sides. Taft College's goalkeeper, Kiana Gordon, alongside those in defensive roles, played crucial parts in holding off further advances from the Lady Golden Eagles. Despite Lemoore's robust attempts to equalize, guided by Jackie Pizano who assisted both Lemoore goals, the defensive fortitude of Taft ensured the game ended with the halftime score.

Looking ahead, the Cougars will return to their home ground at Taft Union High School Soccer Field on September 23, at 12:30 pm to face Oxnard College. As they prepare for this upcoming game, the team will seek to build on their recent victory and continue to enhance their season's standings.
